The California Bay Area
The California Bay Area is famously the headquarters of Starfleet in the Star Trek universe. It's one of the most populated places in North America, and in the present day a microcosm of our divided society in which Silicon Valley and San Francisco hold enormous concentrations of billionaire wealth and big tech power alongside workers known for gender and social progressivism and socialist organizing, and also slums and barios crowded with the impoverished and unhoused.
